David graduated in Naval Architecture, beginning his career in shipbuilding on the River Tyne in the mid 1970s. Roles in offshore engineering in the North Sea and elsewhere followed, before the completion of his MBA in the mid 1980s saw him move to UK -quoted private equity house 3i plc, where he spent 17 years.
Since then, David has held numerous CEO and Chairman positions within privately owned businesses with a range of challenges and extensive international operations, including France and Denmark.
Today David continues to work in a number of non-executive Chairman and Independent roles and became Chairman of Tharsus in 2012. He thrives on strategic challenge, adapting to market trends and change.
